A Simple Frequency Estimation for Burst Mode Digital Transmission

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a simple data-aided frequency offset estimation algorithm for burst mode transmission. The proposed algorithm is based on the frequency domain analysis and interpolation technique. It requires no hardware memory and its computational complexity is low. It is asymptotically unbiased according to the numerical derivation. Simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of the proposed algorithm is close to that of other algorithms with high computational complexity.
