Abstract

in this paper, an extended ellipse model is proposed to predict the MIMO channel propagation characteristics of an indoor radio channel. An ellipse model which is one of Geometrically Based Single Bounce (GBSB) models is selected for scatters distribution. In the proposed model, scatterers are considered as a patch scatterer. As a result, the channel impulse response was generated by distributing scatterers on an ellipse. Capacity results of the proposed model are verified by an indoor measurement by using a 2 X 2 narrow band MIMO channel sounder.
