Air-clad multimode holely fiber coupler for high power transmission

Abstract

We report fabrication of a 2×2 air-clad multimode coupler. It has an insertion loss of 6.5dB, excess loss of 3.5dB over broadband. Potential application in high power combiner was confirmed.
