Analysis of the Hybrid HOL/PBS queueing scheme for multiclass calls in multimedia PCS

Abstract

We propose the Hybrid HOL/PBS queueing scheme to reduce block rate of multiclass calls in Multimedia Personal Communication Service(MPCS). The proposed scheme is provided with analytic results and simulation for comparison in terms of the forced termination probability and mean waiting time. Analytical model as a two dimension Makov process is provided and also carried out to investigate the impact of major parameters on the system performance. The proposed scheme obtains more correct analytic results.
