Balanced receiver based optical beat noise suppression in WDM/SCM PON optical links

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the proposed scheme using balanced receiver and MZM for OBN reduction. Unlike the reported methods, this scheme reduces OBN at CO not at ONU in WDM/SCM PON. EVM of 32QAM signal with 10Mbps is measured in case that ONUs are 2channels. The EVM of 4% is obtained through the proposed scheme implementation.
