Abstract

In cellular vehicle to everything (C-V2X) systems, the two most important message types are Cooperative Awareness Message (CAM) and Decentralized Environmental Notification Message (DENM). Efforts to improve the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) performance of these two messages are needed for reliable vehicular communication. This letter first proposes a C-V2X Sensing Sharing (SS) scheme to improve the DENM and CAM PDR performance. In addition, a DENM Priority Adaptive Short-Term Sensing (DP-ASTS) scheme that can improve the C-V2X reliability by obtaining the sensing duration to enhance the DENM and CAM PDR performance is proposed. Simulation results show that the DP-ASTS scheme results in an improved PDR performance when compared to others existing schemes.
