Design analysis of folded reflectarray element for high aperture efficiency

Abstract

This paper analyzes the element design considerations of a folded reflectarray and proposes a slotted rectangular element. The element is designed for the high aperture efficiency of the folded reflectarray and is applied in a practical antenna case. As a result, the obtained aperture efficiency of the designed antenna is 54.16 %. Detailed design analyzations are presented.
