Abstract

The analysis and design of a mini linear actuator for optical disk drive were presented. The inner yokes were designed to guide the mover and the outer yokes of permanent magnets were removed. The virtual path method was proposed which could be used to model the outer magnetic flux. The dynamic characteristics of the proposed linear actuator were also studied.
