Abstract

A simple and sensitive capillary electrophoretic method was developed for the separation and determination of selected carcinogenic amino derivatives of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The influence of pH and content of methanol in the background electrolyte on electrophoretic mobilities of 2-aminofluorene, 2,7-diaminofluorene, 1-aminonaphthalene, 1-aminopyrene and 6-aminochrysene was studied. The detection limits were estimated to be 2.5 × 10-5 mol.1-1 for 2-aminofluorene, 2.2 × 10-5 mol.1-1 for 2,7-diaminofluorene, 6.5 × 10-6 mol.1-1 for 1-aminonaphthalene, 3.4 × 10-5 mol.1-1 for 1-aminopyrene and 2.6 × 10-5 mol.1-1 for 6-aminochrysene.
