Discrete Cuckoo Search Algorithm for MIMO Detection

Abstract

This paper proposes a discrete cuckoo search algorithm, which is a meta-heuristic optimization algorithm used to solve real-world problems, and it is applied to the multiple-input and multiple-output symbol detection problem. However, simply applying the cuckoo search algorithm is problematic since it does not consider the convex and discrete nature of the symbol detection problem. Thus, a discrete cuckoo search algorithm is applied to the decoded process to enhance the error performance of symbol detection.
