Abstract
This research is focusing on causality between activities of ICT firms and technological changes as convergences with a research question about how ICT firms should do for technological convergence, as well as factors that enable accelerating that technological convergence from their perspective. Therefore, this study sees ICT convergence as a technological change from the interaction between ICT suppliers and adopters. In this frame, the author analyzes the effect of ICT supplier's diversification behaviors on convergence of technological alternatives, longitudinally. A statistical significance of the diversification of firms is derived through the observation of technological changes during a decade regarding patent activities of 187 ICT firms aimed at the automotive field where makes the most active progress upon convergence of ICT.
