Abstract
This article demonstrates, for the first time, a dual-band branch line coupler based on composite right-/left-handed transmission lines with series capacitors only. The complete elimination of shunt inductors provides a potential for the proposed CRLH transmission lines to be applicable to high frequencies, especially without via-holes in microstrip lines. Experimental results are in excellent agreements with the simulated results.
