Dual-band Tapered Slot Antenna for Integrated Biomedical System

Abstract

A single Tapered Slot Antenna (TSA) for biomedical array system is proposed in order to apply for integrated microwave imaging and hyperthermia system. The proposed TSA operates in dual frequency band as a resonance type at 2.45 GHz for hyperthermia and a traveling wave type in 4.5 10 GHz for microwave imaging system. Additional impedance matching technique is applied to overcome the wide-band impedance mismatch. The antenna operating characteristics and time-domain analysis are shown to demonstrate the potential of using in the integrated biomedical system.
