Dynamic analysis of swing-arm type actuator of ODD

Abstract

This article describes the dynamic analysis of a novel positioning mechanism with swing-arm type actuators using VCM and PZT actuator for optical disk drives. The PZT actuator is designed to deflect as 'S' shape when voltage is applied. Its dynamic properties and effectiveness of structures design are demonstrated with both simulation and experimental results.
