This paper Quadratic interior point method is one of the most efficient algorithms. In this paper presents a quadratic interior point method, based on improvement of optimal solution for solving quadratic programming problems, to solve power economic dispatch problem. This paper describes the implementation of a quadratic interior point method for optimal power flow involves the determination of the optimal of a given objectives function subject to given constraints. The scheme developed solves the quadratic or linear optimization problem subject to linear constraints. The algorithm has been evaluated and its accuracy and speed are demonstrated on a IEEE 5-bus, IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 30-bus system and is capable of achieving fast convergence and improvement in computational speed over an existing simplex method.
