Abstract
An edge sidelobe suppressor (ESS) for the uplink of orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) systems was proposed. ESS mitigated the interference introduced by different frequency offsets between a desired user and the other users. The subcarriers at each edge of the subband were employed to minimize the spectrum sidelobe. The simulation results show that ESS scheme improved system performance by approximately 5-dB signal-to-interference ratio as compared to conventional OFDMA systems.
