N2 - A numerical model is used to investigate the conversion efficiency of second-harmonic generation with “nondiffracting” Bessel beams. We experimentally validate the model and show, in contrast to a previous prediction, that the conversion efficiency is always less than for Boyd-Kleinman focused Gaussian beams.
