Abstract

A timely and unifying forum for researchers and practitioners to tackle some of the fundamental and practical issues concerning empirical evaluation of information visualization is presented. Two thematic aspects are discussed namely, evaluating well known information visualization techniques and analyzing the use of information visualization technique in a practical context. A meta-analysis was conducted which presented an initial synthesis of empirical findings across individual studies found in the contemporary literature of information visualization.
