Abstract

In TeV e+e- collisions top quarks are predominantly produced by beamstrahlung and not by the familiar γ, Z annihilation process. The same mechanism will create inside the interaction region a blizzard of c-, b-quarks, as well as leptons from their semi-leptonic decays. The phenomenon makes a linear collider resemble a hadron collider and must be considered as a background in any processes exploiting leptonic signatures.
