Abstract

We report on a high statistics measurement of the cross section of the process γγ→π+π- in the π+π- invariant mass range 0.8GeV/c2<W<1.5GeV/c2 with 85.9fb-1 of data collected at s=10.58GeV and 10.52 GeV with the Belle detector. A clear signal for the f0(980) resonance is observed. From a fit to the mass spectrum, the mass, π+π- and two-photon decay widths of the resonance are found to be 985.6-1.5+1.2(stat)-1.6+1.1(syst) MeV/c2, 34.2-11.8+13.9(stat)-2.5+8.8(syst)MeV, and 205-83+95(stat)-117+147(syst) eV, respectively.
