Abstract
The effect of flocculating agents, i.e. ferric alum, non ferric alum, and polyaluminium chloride (PAC) on ion exchange capacities of ion exchange resins (INDION), are investigated. The comparison of data reveals that the use of PAC in the pretreatment of raw water causes lesser decrement in the total ion exchange capacities and salt splitting capacities of resins and can be used as a coagulating agent in pretreatment of water.
