Abstract

The possibility of changing the magnetostriction by the structure of spin valves is demonstrated via comparison of the saturation magnetostriction of free layers in top-type and bottom-type spin valves. An additional explanation for a change in magnetostriction is suggested by considering an inter-mixing layer at the interface of the free layer in spin-valve films.
