Mathematical model and performance analysis of an improved hybrid code acquisition algorithm in DS-SS systems

Abstract

We present a mathematical model and a performance analysis of an improved hybrid code acquisition algorithm, which applies the early rejection mode in conventional hybrid search method in direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) systems. The mean code acquisition time is derived and analyzed for the acquisition algorithm. We also compare the mean code acquisition time of the improved hybrid search algorithm with those of conventional ones under IMT-2000 channel models. The result indicates that the mean code acquisition time of improved hybrid search algorithm is reduced by about 60% than those of conventional ones.
