Abstract
An adaptive control mechanism is proposed that enables minimum energy consuming cluster-based transmission scheduling for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). When compared to a near-optimum energy-conserving clustering scheme, the proposed scheme provides a significant reduction in power consumption as well as a large improvement in throughput and network connectivity.
