Modeling of the propagation characteristics of smart antennas in microcell environment

Abstract

The application of adaptive directional antennas is an interesting extension of future base station concepts for cellular mobile radio systems. The angular spread and the spatial correlation as the propagation characteristics of smart antennas are simulated by ray tracing, and compared with an experiment in a microcell.
