Abstract

We have searched for the rare decay of the [Formula presented] meson [Formula presented] using the CLEO II detector. The [Formula presented]’s were produced in [Formula presented] collisions with 10 GeV center-of-mass energy at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). We find with [Formula presented] confidence the upper limit on the branching fraction [Formula presented]. The application of conventional elementary particle theory to this decay predicts a branching fraction of about [Formula presented].

N2 - We have searched for the rare decay of the [Formula presented] meson [Formula presented] using the CLEO II detector. The [Formula presented]’s were produced in [Formula presented] collisions with 10 GeV center-of-mass energy at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR). We find with [Formula presented] confidence the upper limit on the branching fraction [Formula presented]. The application of conventional elementary particle theory to this decay predicts a branching fraction of about [Formula presented].
