Non-superconducting Na0.3CoO2{dot operator}2H2O

We have been able to synthesize Na0.3CoO2{dot operator}2H2O and determine the structure of this bi-layer hydrate with a monoclinic lattice distortion while essentially maintaining the spatial separation of the CoO2 layers as in the superconducting Na0.3CoO2{dot operator}1.4H2O. Magnetization data of Na0.3CoO2{dot operator}2H2O reveal a loss of superconductivity above 2 K.
