N2 - We have proposed and theoretically verified optical regenerator using single semireflectivesemiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), through simulation. To explain the operation characteristics of semi-reflective SOA, simplified gain model of semi-reflective SOA is proposed. Extinction ratio (ER) enhancement and signal amplification can be achieved in proposed scheme. With CW-holding beam, high-speed operation is possible.
