One dimensional phase conjugating/retrodirective mirror in millimeter-wave band

Abstract

As the design and fabrication of high-frequency microwave components are developed, many applications are recently proposed in millimeter-wave band. The applications are communications, imaging, sensing, and RF power delivering in which new conceptual approaches, retrodirective or phase conjugating array, have been also considered. One of emerging technologies is a passive millimeter-wave (PMMW) imaging system [1]. The key aspect of the PMMW imaging system is its penetration capability. Different from the optical imaging system, the PMMW imaging system can form images in low-visibility conditions such as night, foggy weather, clouds, and even though cloths. This characteristic is useful for many applications in both commercial and military areas.
