Optical trapping in a new light: Rotation and advanced manipulation of microscopic objects

Research output: Contribution to journalConference article

Optical micro-manipulation has seen a resurgence of interest in recent years which has been due in part to new application areas and the use of tailored forms of light beam. The use of Laguerre-Gaussian and Bessel light beams is described. The creation of optically bound matter using counter-propagating Gaussian beams is also discussed.
