Phase behavior of polystyrene and poly(n-pentyl methacrylate) blend

Abstract

Weakly interacting PS/PnPMA blends which exhibit both UcST and LCST behavior was shown. With only a slight increase in Mw of PS, a transition to an hourglass type of phase behavior was found. This interesting phase diagram of the PS/PnPMA blend was due to a nonlinear dependence of χ on inverse temperature.
