Abstract
The broad band photoluminescence spectrum centered at 550 nm is investigated in Ce:Sr 0.6Ba 0.4Nb 2O 6 crystals which are known as promising optical materials for holographic data storage. The absorption band of cerium ions at 410 nm is obtained and two cerium sites are suggested for the two-center model from the experimental results of the temperature dependence of the photoluminescence spectra and their lifetimes in the range of 15-365 K.
