Abstract

Photon structure functions for massive quarks (i.e. i=Q-c, b, . . .) should be suppressed compared to fu,d,s gamma / by the screening of the evolution up to the scale Q2=Q02 of order of the heavy flavour mass-squared,/sup /mQ2. Contrary to light quarks, one can safely ignore the non-point-like hadronic contributions for photon structure functions of massive quarks since the effect of VMD for photon structure functions rapidly decreases as Q2 (or m Q2) increases, i.e. Q2>>m rho2.
