The photoproduction of massive gauge bosons-W, Z and γ*-in high energy electron-proton collisions is analysed. We include both direct and indirect processes, involving the parton structure of the photon, taking careful account of the double counting problem for the latter. We show how the ratio of W and Z production cross sections provides a precise test of the standard model triple-boson WWγ vertex.
