Polygonal core optical fiber fabrication and its dispersion characteristics

Abstract

Polygonal core optical fibers were fabricated with triangular, square, and pentagonal core. Their waveguide properties were studied by mode analysis using FEM in terms of effective refractive index and chromatic dispersion of the fundamental mode.
