Nuclear power generation system is one of the important energy generation systems. However, when an accident caused by external forces such as earthquakes occur, the nuclear power plant can lead to critically detrimental effects. Thus, researchers have to design the nuclear reactor internals that can endure the external forces. To do this, seismic responses of nuclear reactor internals should be identified. In this research, the seismic response analysis was performed via finite element model. The dynamic characteristics of reactor internal structures were verified by modal experiments of scaled-down model and scale similarity analysis. The 3-D finite element model was designed to reflect the dynamic characteristics. That model was simplified to beam element model in order to perform seismic analysis. Finally, seismic responses of reactor internals were calculated by the beam model.
