Abstract
This letter presents a systematic guide to determine parameters of the Gabor wavelet often used as a mother wavelet in implementing the Analytic Wavelet Transform (AWT). The transform was proven to be a powerful tool in estimating power system modal parameters. Its performance however, depends on the wavelet parameters. They are challenging to determine and often require a time-consuming tuning process. Thus, this letter develops an algorithm to systematically determines AWT parameters, with its practicality and accuracy.
