Simultaneous RoF transmission of wireless and wired signals using remodulation techique in injection-locked FP-LD

Abstract

The radio over fiber system that transmits different signal simultaneously for wireless and wired network is proposed. A double sideband wireless signal is generated by a 30-GHz RF tone and a 1.25-Gbps digital signal at a Mach-Zehnder modulator. One sideband subcarrier of the wireless signal is re-modulated by a 622-Mbps wired signal with injection-locking technique at a Fabry Perot laser diode. The error free transmission of both the wired and wireless signals is achieved simultaneously for access networks after 23-km standard single mode fiber.
