N2 - Metastasis is the major cause of death in breast cancer patients, yet it remains challenging to pinpoint the key drivers in metastatic processes. We present a microfluidic cell migration platform enabling: (1) high-throughput migration experiments, (2) automatic image collection and analysis, and (3) reliable cell retrieval to enrich metastatic cancer cells. Using this platform, we have retrieved highly-migratory cells for in-vitro/in-vivo functional validation and single-cell whole transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq). In this manner, we identified new tumorigenic/metastatic biomarkers which were potential therapeutic targets.
