Stable FM mode-locked erbium fiber ring laser with a dispersive medium

Abstract

We report a stabilization scheme of a FM mode-locked erbium fiber ring laser in anomalous dispersion or normal dispersion. Fast gain saturation characteristic of a SOA enabled supermode noise suppression up to 70 dB at both dispersion medium.
