Abstract

We have analyzed theoretically in detail the wavelength conversion performance based on cross gain modulation of reflective semiconductor optical amplifier. Compared with conventional wavelength conversion, wavelength conversion using reflective semiconductor optical amplifier shows improved performance in dynamics, extinction ratio and pulse shape. The performance of XGM wavelength conversion using reflective SOA has been studied closely based on dynamic transfer matrix method.
