Currently, most OTT service providers check the available bandwidth and transmit video bit-streams at the maximum possible bit rate. However, depending on the size and resolution of the display, perceptual quality may not be improved, even though the service provider transmits high resolution video data at high bit-rates. We performed a number of subjective tests using various display terminals. In this paper, we present the experimental results, which indicate the perceptual video quality saturation depending on the display characteristics. Finally we explore the possibilities of efficiently using bandwidth resources.
