Heat transfer characteristics of transpiration cooling devices encompass Stanton numbers and the temperature increase in the transpired wall. These were calculated for ideal transpiration cooling and for transpiration cooling of a permeable or perforated wall with a turbulent boundary layer covering its surface and compared with experimental results for full coverage film cooling.
