Abstract
The short operation lifetime of organic light-emitting devices originates from irreversible degradation of organic materials, but the mechanism by which degradation initiates has been insufficiently understood. We discovered that degradation is triggered by electron-transfer interactions between a dopant and a host exciton. A numerical model predicting operational stability has been developed.
